Auctorian Fallout Four!

With the first games of the day finished, results pooled and character development rolls made, we were ready to start thinking about our second round.

Having broadly matched each other, both sides had similar Warpoints to bid on planets. In the event, both sides bid broadly similar points, with differences made up for by the various bonuses gained for defending worlds, being marginally outnumbered etc. As such, the final points available for the games were fairly balanced across all 4 tables.

Kavun saw a desperate attempt by the Imperials to destroy the Warp-tainted crops the only way they could fathom; a Blood Angel strike force planting a nuclear device on a fault line, powerful enough to rupture the planet's surprisingly fragile shell. Despite a determined assault, the loyal Astartes were quickly put down by their traitorous kin, aided by many daemon engines and warp-spawned monstrosities. They never managed to get their precious payload close enough to do more than scar the topsoil. Score one for Chaos!

Navaria saw a Daemonic outburst amongst the psyker population in the prison wings. Black Templars were swiftly on the scene to put down the incursion, but they were not not swift enough. A trio of the largest Daemons made a mockery of their Power Armour and even their Land Raider transports. Another planet firmly in the grip of Chaos

Auctoria saw a double pronged attack; Auctoria Major felt the touch of the warp from the Thousand Sons and their Daemon Prince leader whist her moon, Auctoria Minor was invaded in the hope of taking control of the Orbital defences. Whilst the lunar operation was a success, the Thousand Sons forces were decimated on the planet's surface. However, as the heroes leading each force clashed in an epic duel, it was clear that this simple combat would decide the fate of the world. Unfortunately for the Imperials, the Winds of Chaos were strong and the Sorcerer-turned-Daemon had Tzeentch's eye upon him. He slaughtered the Blood Angels command as an offering to his sponsoring deity, claiming Auctoria for Chaos.

After years of harassment attacks, Colonel Karter led an offensive push against the outer precincts  Forge Alpha79-T. Defended by Astartes wearing midnight blue and loyal Guard forces, he launched a devastating barrage from his Leman Russ tanks, as well as liberated Manticore launch vehicles and commandeered Vendetta gunships. Despite intervention by a squad of Terminators, the traitor guard managed to kill all the defenders, leaving Karter a small window of opportunity to infiltrate the Titan Foundry...
