Charity Fundraising Apocalypse game!

Hello, fair reader!

For those of you expecting the next instalment of the Auctorian Fallout, have no fear, I am still working on it! What can I say, it was a BIG game. Speaking of which, how would you, yes YOU, like to get involved in a huge game? How about helping to raise money for a very deserving charity whilst having a laugh with a load of like minded nutcases? Well then read on...

Long time readers may well remember a post I did way back when, talking about the wargaming community and its potential to benefit others by raising money for charity. Not one of those readers? You can find the blog article here. In it I set an outline for an event I hoped to run in the future, with two aims; to raise as much cash as possible for a worthy cause and to get a load of people together to have a lot of fun.

The Future Is Now!

Sort of. October 12 2013, to be precise! On this illustrious date, I will be hosting The Cleansing of Toreldos, in conjunction with the Leicester Sabres. The charity we have chosen to raise money for is the Derby, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance. I hope you will agree that is a very worthy cause, whether you are from that area or not!

So how can you get involved? Well, if you want, I would certainly suggest clicking on the Air Ambulance's Donate button on their website. Aside from that, the Apocalypse Game has an event page on Facebook, which has a link to the Rules Pack.

The game won't just be a straight Apocalypse game though. In addition to the secret missions players can purchase, there will be many surprises throughout the day to keep even the most seasoned veteran on their toes! I must stress, this is not a competitive event. Thematic, humorous and light-hearted play is very much encouraged, and may well be rewarded by the G.O. (Game Organiser, aka ME!)

Whether you have a single squad or a full Chapter of Space Marines, we'll find a space for you. If you can get yourself down to Leicester on the 12th of October, why wouldn't you want to take part?

If you aren't able to get to the event, but would like to donate to help ensure its success, you can send money via PayPal to charityapocalypse@outlook.com.

Otherwise, the Entry Fee is £5, again payable via PayPal at the above email address, more than 24 hours before the event begins with the email subject "Cleansing of Toreldos". The body of the email should include your name, so I know who has paid. If you wish to pay for more than one person, that is fine. Make sure you include all the names of everyone you are paying for, as well as the correct payment for everyone.

Once again, the Rules Pack for the event can be found here;

Hopefully see you all on October 12th 2013!

Matt
